Now even though this is a project, I’m not counting it towards my 20 projects this year because I started it about two or three years ago. When I first moved down here to Pyoseon, I came across a big patch of berries that was growing on the side of the road. So I did what any self respecting adult would do: Made my shirt into a make-shift basket and started filling it with the berries that I managed not to eat in the process. And then I got this idea. I have a garden\u2026 I can grow these in my garden and have a consistent supply of berries for a couple of months during the course of my year. This was a decision I would later categorize in my smaller, but cherished \u201cgood\u201d section of ideas I’ve had.<\/p>

I have to keep them at bay but the berry bushes have taken over some of the unused the shade areas in my garden, which is exactly what I wanted them to do because it controls the grass, but also gives me a very large supply of very big berries that taste similar to raspberries. But then I figured\u2026 why stop there. So I started taking those berries and on a walk with with me and the dogs. Every so often I would resist the urge to eat the berries and pitch them along the side of the road. This is the first year that I have REALLY seen the effects of that. The 7 kilometer route I walk has berries popping up everywhere.\"\"<\/p>

And I am continuing the process of taking some of the choice berries and spreading them in places bare of berries. They grow like weeds when left along and it\u2019s almost inevitable that they will take root.
I am not sure why I haven\u2019t done this my whole life. We could be planting fruit trees and veggies in random places for no reason whatsoever. All you have to do is drop some seeded food trash. No one is going to get mad if a volunteer tomato plant makes its way into the wild. This is one of the coolest projects I\u2019ve done though because I can see the effects over large areas. And it LOOKS like the crows that follow me on my walk have been collaborating too because I noticed that there are bushes on the other side of the street where the power lines are and I wasn\u2019t the one pooping seeds over there. Anyway it\u2019s a easy\/fun project that yields results worth yielding. If you join me let me know. Maybe we can start a movement.<\/p>
